Certain sound instruments such as tingsha and energy chimes or tuning forks can be used in the biofield or aura around the body to detect changes in how the sound is heard and thus changes or imbalances in energy within the various layers of the biofield. Science has demonstrated through use of atomic microscopes, that at a cellular level, our bodies emit three types of energy. These energies are light energy as photons, scalar energy as standing waves and sound energy as phonons. Using a sound instrument in close proximity to the physical body can detect changes in resonance within the phonon field.
Eileen McKusick , author and founder of the Biofield Tuning Institute, in her book Tuning The Human Biofield states :
"The biofield- which extends approximately five feet to both sides of the body and five feet above the head and below the feet and is shaped like a torus- contains the record of our memories, embedded as energy and information in standing waves within this structure. Just as the brain is compartmentalized with different areas responsible for different functions, so is the biofield." Eileen states that " Blockages of flow and distortions in the field show up as dissonance that is readily perceived by the client and therapist. In her therapy and many videos on this technique Eileen www.eileenmckusick demonstrates using coherent sound frequencies in a therapeutic and targeted way to help bring "greater order into the system".
During my sound healing training course with The Sound Healing Academy www.soundhealingacademy I learnt and practised the technique of using sound to detect and help facilitate greater coherence to sound imbalances within the biofield. Use of tuning forks for this purpose takes a great deal of practice. Any sound instrument with a fairly long sustain can be utilized for this purpose but I personally find using an energy chime to be a particularly sensitive and effective tool for detecting changes.
As part of my sound healing training I also learnt the technique of using a pendulum to indicate imbalances and sometimes incorporate use of this in my practice. Pendulums can be useful in further clarifying information obtained through use of sound. Use of pendulums, a technique that is over 200 years old is a kinesiology technique based on the premise that a higher level of knowledge can be accessed through our physical bodies and that our physical bodies have been designed to respond to true statements with muscle strength and false statements with weakness. Both muscle testing and pendulums are sources of communication to receive guidance from our higher consciousness. Unconscious micro muscle movements within the body act as a divination tool to control the direction and pattern of the movement of the pendulum and particularly useful for obtaining yes or no answers such as is this particular energy centre out of balance? A clockwise direction can be used to indicate true statements and vice-versa. The direction and meaning is clarified and calibrated by the practitioner before answers to specific questions are sought and are personal to the practitioner. Pendulums are sometimes used around the body to indicate an energy centre or chakra in balance as moving in a clockwise direction and an imbalance indicated as a rotation in an anticlockwise direction. The chakras are believed to rotate in a clockwise direction when flowing well and in balance.
